About Us

We are a 501(C)(3) organization that exists to fulfill one simple purpose:

to make our community a better place!

3 Rivers Yoga was founded in 2018 with an intention of taking the practice of yoga outside of a yoga studio setting so it can be shared more broadly with the community. The style of yoga we are rooted in is called Baptiste Yoga, named after its founder Baron Baptiste. It is focused on teaching healthy body alignment, building community and instilling leadership skills that can impact a person's life outside of the time spent on the yoga mat.

The practice is designed to:

-Challenge us - to help us drop our armour and default habits.

-Support us - allow for a deeper ability to get still, pay attention and listen (to our bodies & thoughts)

-Realign - to the things that we value the most.

Our mission is to foster health and wellbeing by putting yoga principles into practice through education, opportunity and accessibility

Currently our mission is being fulfilled by teaching at the following locations.

Boys & Girls Club

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Fort Wayne Community Schools
Shepherds House

Redemption House

Silver Birch Retirement
122nd Fighter Wing Choices Pilgrim Baptist Church

Sarah Evans

President

Sarah Evans is passionate about the health and wellbeing industry. She is a Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Intensive Care experience, the owner of a massage studio and has worked as a Massage Therapist since 1998. She is the co-owner of a local yoga studio and has completed the highest level of training (F.I.T. to Lead) through the Baptiste Yoga Institute. Her love of yoga comes from not only the wide ranging health benefits, but also it's ability to create connection between people and develop powerful leaders. She founded 3 Rivers Yoga Foundation to strengthen our community by connecting people through a shared experience and making yoga accessible to anyone, anywhere. She currently serves as the President of the organization.

Jennifer Mills

Vice President

Jen Mills is a tier one certified Baptiste teacher, a 200 hour RYT, and has been teaching Baptiste Yoga for the past five years. Through the  Baptiste methodology, Jen discovered her passion for health and healing and pursued this interest further by becoming a massage therapist. Being a part of the 3 Rivers Yoga Foundation is her way to give back and to be of service to the community. Her hope is that by teaching the methodology, she can pass this gift on to her students, and for them to discover their passion and live their best life. When she is not teaching yoga, Jen enjoys spending time with her family, friends, snuggling her pups, summer days on her porch, and cozy fires in her living room.

Kristina Adams

Ancillary Board

Kristina Adams completed her first 200 RYT training in 2023, and most recently completed B.R.A.V.E Leadership & 200 Hour Teacher Training in early 2024.  She knew during her first ever yoga class that she wanted to become certified to teach it, and loves all type of yoga. Being a part of 3 Rivers Yoga Foundation allows Kristina to fulfill two very important passions: helping children in the Fort Wayne area, and women in recovery from addiction.  She also volunteers with Fort Wayne Community School’s Families in Transitions Department.  Kristina enjoys participating and teaching all types of fitness, and is also certified to teach HITT, Barre and Sculpt. When she isn’t in the studio, she keeps busy working with her husband, watching her boys play their sports and reading a book at the lake.
